Elegantly Haunted Art

The glass begged to be drank from… the black stem branching out from its base erupting into black and white…naked, leafless trees.  Left exposed to shine through the blood red wine.  The guests draped in the ghoulish costumes; gushing over my beautiful stemware.

Brandy Boswell, is a local artist and business owner in York, PA. Brandy began hand painting glassware for her annual Halloween Party. After her friends and family discovered her distinctive talent the need for her art exploded.  Her website is easy to navigate to view all the art and how to care for it.  http://www.elegantlyhaunted.com/

If you have another holiday in mind or a theme to your dining room Brandy is your go to girl for any custom painting on glass.  Painting has been a form of art for over 10,000 years.  Think about it; the first painting was done by cavemen on his walls.

If you have an idea and can envision it on glass, contact Brandy Boswell at elegantlyhaunted@gmail.com for an estimate of your unique, custom painted piece of work.

So it’s a pen…no, it’s a Smart Pen.

I admit it.  I lost the pen about a week after receiving it as a birthday gift from my boyfriend.  The pen can be replaced.  What I can’t replace is the recordings that were on that specific Smart Pen, also nicknamed Black Dog, (BD) shortly after I learned what a writer is referring with those very words.  Black dog is depression…I didn’t name my pen BD because I’m depressed.  I named it that because it helped take the depression away.  So I miss BD and I am still hoping it will return.

Oh, and my cousin, Holly Grove is tormenting me viciously at the loss of my pen.  She will pay for that.

Happy birthday Timmy Poo

Dear Tim,

I realize you are probably freaking out right about now.  Why the hell am I writing to you, my future ex-brother-in-law?  Duh, cause it’s your birthday!  Here are some things I am glad about on your birthday.  I made you a list:

1. It’s not my birthday.  Mine was recent enough.  Thanks.

2.  It’s not because you’re getting older.

3.  It’s because you’re getting better.

4.  Because it’s Bill Gates birthday.

5.  Cause you’re not your brother.

6.  Because you are my buddy.

It’s not like it’s a secret.

Happy birthday Poo!

~P.

It is my birthday and here are my wishes

It’s been four long years since I’ve celebrated a birthday with my daughter and husband.  Since that can’t happen, here is my top 10 birthday requests:

1. Nice weather.  Doesn’t have to be perfect, just nice.

2. Find out the divorce John signed for four years ago is actually getting somewhere.

3. Simple day at classes.

4. Have a good day with Ying who turns for and shares a birthday with me.

5. Eat dinner at Red Lobster.

6. Go to the End of the World lecture at York College.

7. Look younger.

8. Grasp the meaning of life.

9. Avoid crabs of any species.

10. Have my cake and eat it too.

Not a bad wish list.  Not bad at all.  😉

Actually, let’s make the divorce process four years after him filing be #1.

Birthday freedom,

~P.

Cheese steak with peppers, onions and rainbow sprinkles

Every now and then I get inspired to do something strange with dinner.  It could be serving it in an unusual way (ie: not paper plates) or throw in an unusual ingredient to give it zing or pretty color.  What can I say?  The sprinkles were calling me while I made cheese steak sandwiches!

Add sprinkles to your life!  Color  is fun 🙂

Bicycles and the Magic 8 Ball

We had a magical weekend riding bicycles, asking the Magic 8 Ball important questions and posing for pictures.  Our kids love to have their photo taken!

Walking Photo Weekend

Some random photos from the weekend.  I am trying to present pictures in a different way.

These are all outdoor, nature photos.  My favorite is the red tip cap on the stink dog toadstool.  ~P.

A dog day weekend worth

So I’m really enjoying my photography class.  I have lined-up some models (a nude included) to work on my portrait photos.  While I’m doing that, I’m also taking pictures with my digital camera.  For shits and giggles ya know?

Wow, my SD card has 86 pictures on it!  Time to load them and see what I have as blog material photos.  The pictures are anything from me goofing off experimenting, pictures of the kids and some shots arranged for artistic appeal.

Ying is a great model.  Such expression and depth in his photo shoot.   🙂
