Gross Toes & Sign Language

For whatever reason, Zeth and I became engrossed in the difference angles we could bend our toes. He also realized his feet are huge next to his sisters baseball cleats.  He was especially happy to show me the snake head with and without a tongue he could make with his fingers.

We are easily entertained.  ~P.

Zeth can make his big toe point up. I can't.

I can give Zeth the middle toe, he can't.

The Return of My Second Egg

Mystery Blue Egg

My son has moved completely in this time.  Not just for the weekend or a week, but 100% settled back into the nest.

He didn’t come without resistance because mom is strict.

Compared to his father, I am strict.  Ask John and he will say I’m not strict enough.  Go figure.

So I get my second egg back in the nest by default.  His dad told him to fly his coup and his aunt said he couldn’t nest there.

Interestingly enough, in his first day with mama bird, he has paid his fine to avoid going to jail and applied for approximately ten jobs.

He also has a new set of rules to live by.

1. Get a job.

2. Earned money will go towards living here and towards a car.

3. Get a driver’s license.

4. Clean up after yourself.

5. Do your laundry.

6.  No sneaking out of the house or anyone in.

7. No illegal activities, period.

8. Stealing and lying is unacceptable.

9. Cook. (most likely the easiest for him to follow as he loves to cook)

10. Shower daily.

These rules are pretty simple.  He starts with no privileges and must earn my trust.

My Third Egg is thrilled that her brother has moved in.  They were downstairs in Zeth’s new bedroom and Tesla asked, “Are you going to live here forever?”

I yelled down, “God, I hope not!”

That cracked Egg #2 up.

Wish him and me luck.

Say a prayer too,

Clipped Wings

I am upset with my son and his disrespect towards his father, step-mother and I.  None of us seem to be able to get through to him that he is traveling down a dangerous path that will put him on the wrong side of the law.  ~P.

An angel looking down, a tear and frown.

Clipped wings for being a clown.

Jagged edges refuse to heal.

Dare make a last appeal.

Can’t come back, have nowhere to go.

The penalty of going with the flow.

Manchester Playground Carnival 2012

First a BIG thank you to Donna Burns for inviting us to the Manchester Playground Carnival.

The carnival had just about everything except over-priced rides and games.  Tickets were priced at 25 cents each and if you bought $20 worth, an extra 10 were thrown in for free. That $20 worth of tickets lasted the entire three hours we were there.  Not just for Tesla, but Blaine, Zeth, Suz and myself.  Dale wasn’t interested in playing the games but did enjoy watching us have a blast.

The bounce houses, slide and obstacle course were great for the kids and the dunk tank made quite the splash also.  There were all types of food vendors, retail vendors, face painting, Rose Radio played music, and the coolest display was the reptile petting zoo by Critter Caravan.  The giant lizard had me amazed, along with the boa constrictor and the enormous turtle.

The big surprise of the night was the cake walk and prize stand.  I have never left a carnival where we needed bags to carry out all the prizes.  Tesla even won a chocolate cake in one of the cake walks.

What a delightful evening we had!  One that we all enjoyed and it didn’t break the bank.

Kudos to Manchester on the annual carnival!  If you missed it, you missed tons of fun for all ages.  There’s always next year…

Thanks again Donna!  We wouldn’t have known there was a carnival going on if it wasn’t for you!

One graduates high school, the other kindergarten

It’s officially June 6th…a new day, even if I haven’t shuffled my ass up to bed.  This felt like a runaway day.  Woke up, made coffee, walked Ying, talked to the maintenance guy about my smoke detector, got a shower, went to Tesla’s classroom play.  The kids also read aloud the books they wrote and illustrated.  Tesla wrote about horses and when her dad rode one.  It was very cute.  She did a great job both in the play as a bear and reading her horse story.  Ms. Dettinger had a brief conversation with me privately and I left giving Tesla a hug and kiss and told her I would see her later for her brother’s graduation.  A little while later Ms. Dettinger sent me a text message that the costume parts were hers, not Tesla’s.  Instead of turning around, I stopped at John’s to drop it off.  No one was home so I let it hanging on the door knob.

Horses by Tesla Delauter

About fifteen minutes  prior to Dale and I leaving for Zman to get that diploma, John calls me.  He’s pressing trespassing charges against me for going into our house.  He said he has an “eye-witness” that saw me enter the house.  I told him I’ll take a lie detector test and his “eye witness” can take one and we will see who is lying.  He told me to explain that to the police.   Whatever.

We took Zeth out for dinner, he was hungry for a medium rare steak….I couldn’t get Tesla until 5:30 but then the place got busy and we needed to get going.  John texted asking me if I was going to feed Tesla.  Keep in mind, I asked several times to get her after school.  I had been told originally I couldn’t even take Tesla to her brother’s graduation.  I wrote back she could eat my chicken fingers and we arrived for Tesla at 5:45.

I signed the paper stating I was allowed to have Tesla from 5:30 until 8:30.  The line to the school entrance was so backed-up, Zeth jumped out and walked….he beat us there.  Graduation was packed to the gills.  We parked in the grass in the furthest parking lot at the middle school and walked to the high school.  My dad rolled my mom over with us (she is in a wheelchair) and we settled into the track area at 6:55.

Soon the graduates walked by and I snapped a picture of Zeth.  The ceremony was hard to hear, but the music sounded great.  We saw Zeth get his empty diploma holder and I video-taped all the student tossing their caps.  At 8:50 I texted John we would be leaving soon and it is unbelievably crowed.

Tesla was very proud of her big brother

It was a very long ceremony, from 7pm until 9:15, then we had to wait for Zeth to find his dad and step-mom and make his way back to us.  He had a gift for my mom he made in wood shop.  It was a beautiful clock, hand-made and painted by him.  We walked back to the car ….that took 20 minutes and finally we hit the road to take Tesla back to John.

Dropped of Tesla with no problems and headed back home.  We passed John on the way home.  I’m guessing he was in his elf outfit for softball.  I really didn’t give it much thought other than “he wasn’t going to let me have Tesla for Zeth’s graduation but he’s out playing softball.”  Dale and I hadn’t even been on the road fifteen minutes when John sent me a text, “I’ll be notifying my attorney that you broke the custody agreement.”

I responded with “bitter man” because that’s what this is about.  His personal vendetta: charging me with trespassing for dropping off our daughter’s costume from her play and contempt for running later than 8:30 for Zeth’s graduaton.

Cops on speed dial 1, his lawyer on 2.

Tesla turns 6

Tesla had a great 6th birthday!  It was great to have all my kidlings together.  The weather wasn’t too bad….a little chilly.  😉   Thanks to all who helped make the day special!   ~P.

Wanted her hair curled for the party....and make up. 😉

Sharp Shooting Sister

Don’t assume because….

You tower over your little sister,

Outweigh your little sister,

Can run faster than your little sister,

That you can shoot a Nerf gun better than your little sister.

Attorney General’s Office rang

Yes, they are checking me out.  Fraudulent receipt of food stamps.  Maybe more, I’m really not sure.

Calling about Zeth, who I took off my benefits list but his benefits returned at their insistance.

Why is this an issue that needs looking into?  I am sure all my phone calls are recorded.

I know it was started by you know who.

I’m not scared of you bully.

Dear Zeth

Hi son!  Happy birthday, well the day after your birthday.  I was so happy to see you when you stopped by!  At least until you showed me what you bought yourself for your birthday.

Do I like your gift to yourself?  Uh, no.  But, you’re 18 and can do what you want to your body.  As far as your gift from Matt….I won’t even go there!

Zeth’s first tattoo. He says more to come.
Another hole in your head. Just what you need.

So Happy birthday son!  I hope you liked your gift from me.  It was the same gift you gave me on my birthday.
