Just an hour at the Splash Park

Tesla and I had an hour left in our week and we spent it at the water park in Red Lion.  This park is awesome!  ~P.

Tesla plays her last game this season

Today was Tesla and the entire Craley Tball team’s last game.  The weather was just right for a game!  Tesla missed her last at bat due to a nose bleed.  😦

Uncle Tim and Aunt Vonnie came to see the game and brought their dogs, Voggy and Brandy.

Great last game Craley!  Pool party tomorrow!  ~P.

I Want the Moon

I remember Jarrid saying this over and over when he was about two.  The moon is tough to get, just ask Gru in Despicable Me.  (My favorite kid movie ever, closely followed by MegaMind) ~P.

Flower Bed of Memories

I finished my flower bed today!  I’m pleased with the results!  The neighboring birds kept a close eye on me the entire time.  ~P.

Momma and her Baby Chick

I’ve been watching a bird and her baby ever since she built a nest in each hole of my neighbors birdhouse.  Deb said she really didn’t want birds in there, but the holes were open and Momma set up in this two story home.

I took some close-ups of Baby Chick while Momma was out worm hunting.  They did some test flights, which were mostly Baby Chick running with a few decent flight attempts.  Momma is in my flower bed right now, pecking for grubs.  There are plenty to pluck.  I’m just glad she isn’t diving at me at the moment.  She took two fly-bys and a few choice chirps to make it clear she was not pleased with me or the impromptu photo shoot.

Enjoy the photos…I’ll will add to them as I catch the birds out of the house.

Why Balloons?

Balloon appeal graph <——click to see what is most appealing to 50 responses of The Looner Questionnaire.  Found here—–> http://girlboxer1970.com/2012/02/19/looner-questionnaire/

What is it about balloons that makes some people feel more than just an urge to smile?

Balloons come in all sizes, they are colorful, soft, make noise and have a unique smell.  Balloons stimulate all the senses: touch, sight, scent, hearing and taste.

Wait, taste?  Well, lick or bite a balloon.  That smell has a taste to go with it.

What would you pop the balloons with?!

What would you pop the balloons with?!

This common object–cheap, fragile and easy to obtain–is a source of pleasure to countless numbers of people.  If this confuses you, I completely understand.  After a year of research in multiple degrees of involvement, interviews, and textual reading, I fully understand the interest in balloon fetishism, a community which is exploding in size.  (Pardon the pun, I couldn’t resist.)

The looner community is rather secretive and the only reason is because this fetish somehow is mentally connected to pedophilia in the minds of many people, who are not stimulated by balloons .  Pedophilia is a mental illness that causes sexual attraction to children.  This is not a fetish.  Crimes are committed in the act of pedophilia.  There is no crime in being a looner, and the only negativity is that imposed by ignorant people, not willing to understand what this harmless fetish is truly about.

I need to start thinking of creative titles.  Not that publishers really let you pick your own title, but who knows.  I might get lucky.

Drop me some comments….ideas/thoughts about a looner fetish book~!

I’m a happy popper!  U?

Double Creek Marathon 2013

Gruver's Orange Army

Gruver’s Orange Army

The Double Creek Marathon was held today, June 15th, in Dover, PA.  A mile and half of North Salem Church Road was closed for the event.  Participants returned on the same road for a total of 3 miles.

Participating in the marathon was a small army of Gruver’s Boot Campers who have No More Excuses!  https://www.facebook.com/JeremyGruver

Downtown the mascot of the York Revolution baseball team joined in supporting the participants and the crowd.

One very grouchy Mike Fetrow refused to move his wide load out of the way.  I even offered to direct him while turning around but he refused.  Eventually, someone notified the police who told him to do exactly what I had offered to help with.  I get he had a certain route outlined by PA DOT, but there were 1000+ people and he was one grump in a truck.  (Some people haven’t changed much since high school.)

Photos from the event.  Click on the first small photo and the gallery will open for each section.

Benjamin Franklin Rests Here

On my second day in Philadelphia, I paid the $2 fee to enter the Christ Church Burial Grounds.  Founded in 1719 it is the final resting place of many names from history that I recognize.  Franklin being the most famous, of course.

In addition to Franklin, I learned the tomb of John Andrews D.D. was also in this burial ground.  Andrews was the founder of York College of Pennsylvania in 1787.

I had only an hour to photograph the burial grounds before they closed for the day.  I would have like to note the name of each person’s tombstone I photographed, but there just wasn’t time.

Enjoy!

Philadelphia Writers Conference~Day 2

Day 2 of the conference kicked off with sunshine.  For that I am grateful as my camera and raindrops do not get along.  It was scary driving on the city streets that looked like a stream.  My car is small and I was concerned the rushing water could sweep me off the street.

Here are photo highlights from day 2.

The highlights of the day for me were meeting George Anastasia and winning first place in Nonfiction for “The Prison Visit”  A version of that essay can be read here.   http://wp.me/p1j2Ur-18a

I love visiting Philly and can’t wait to go back!   ~P.
