Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?
βLooks like a bulldog.β.
Thatβs what my dad wrote my mom when I was born and he was stationed in Vietnam, back in October of 1970.
I donβt know about looking like a bulldog, but I would say you could compare me to a bulldog.
A dedicated, loving companion, but also ready to attack and defend those I love.
Woof.

What would you do if you lost all your possessions?
At this point in my life, as Iβm turning 55 next week, I realize even if I lost every possession I owned today, as long as I still had my husband and family, everything else is replaceable.
And this time, I would just have less. The stuff you have isnβt what makes your life.
Brian would just buy another sailboat. β΅οΈ

What are you doing this evening?

This was actually a prompt from a few days ago, but I want to share a short story.
I started DoorDash about a month ago. You start to recognize other Doordashers hanging out, waiting for orders.
Iβll start conversations with them, just to keep myself entertained.
Hanging out in front of the York City McDonaldβs, where shootings are frequent and food is slow, I nodded to a guy probably in his late 20s with a few face tattoos. I asked βdashingβ?
He replied, βyesβ, with a sigh.
I stated, βyeah me, too. I have student loans I want to pay off before I retire.β
He replied, βoh yeah!β with enthusiasm. And added, βI have to pay off my fines and restitution so probation will let me leave this shit state.β
I raised my eyebrows with full sincerity, and even nodded, replying, βI hope that works out for you.β
He said βthanksβ and went onward in his dashing.
I have to say, Dashing is quite the experience.

What TV shows did you watch as a kid?
First, we only have local television channels. There was no cable of any type, reaching our neck of the woods. No MTv.
We watched a lot of public television. Ironic, as the channel I didnβt want to watch is now a channel that is possibly going away. Of course l, when I was really young I enjoyed Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers.
Loved Archie Bunker. Waltonβs. Little House.
Oh, we watched the Dukes of Hazard, Happy Days, and Laverne and Shirley.
Hmmmmβ¦great shows.
Better times.
Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.
It might not be the neatest made bed, but when I go to bed at night, itβs a special slice of joy that my bed is made and literally waiting for me to climb into it like a bear, settling in for a long winter.

Have you ever broken a bone?
I have managed to go 54 years on this earth without breaking a bone. But two years ago, while jumping rope at the gym, my Achilles tendon fully ruptured.

The recovery from the Achilles tendon was the most horrible experience Iβve ever had in my life. Keep in mind I have three children, two of which I gave birth to without an epidural.
I 100% believe that I broke my leg, it wouldβve been a much easier healing process.
Achilles tendon rupture are no joke!
No broken bones in the future, I hope!

Who was your most influential teacher? Why?
Mr. Kinsley was an English teacher and he also taught creative writing. I started writing a journal in his class.
It was fun to decorate the covers and as I continued to do it for years later, my covers became more and more creative. Lots of boys names. π
He is the one that ignited my interest in writing and journaling. He was dedicated to teaching, driving from West Virginia to Pennsylvania. That or a bit crazy. π€ͺ
Thanks Mr. K!
What snack would you eat right now?
Iβm just finishing up my snack, watching Rain Man with the hubby.
Great movie.
Had a busy day at home. Productive.
Balloons were popped. ππ

Itβs been cold and uninviting outside.
Iβll stick to inside.

What was the last thing you searched for online? Why were you looking for it?
I googled podiatrist in my area. After suffering for over a year, Iβve determined the pain in my heel is not from the Achilles tendon rupture repair surgery.
I need my feet to not hurt! π’ π¦Ά
But, I also need to exercise. So frustrating.
