Brian gave me a quick update on the boat. It will be ready by spring. He’s paid the mechanic. He’s paid for the slip fee for next year. He paid the bubbler fee to keep the water from freezing around our boat.
I let all those payments bounce around in my head for a bit. I hesitated to even ask what the cost was for repairs. There are endless repairs. I mean just to keep the boat from freezing into the river is $125.
It’s gotten to the point where I don’t blink an eye at the cost of this boat. It doesn’t really matter. You pay it. It’s an endless pit to throw money into, that floats.
I will say we have some amazing adventures due to having this very expensive floating hole. I love our time out on the water, even though I can’t swim, I do float. And, I fully expect to die in water at the hands of my husband, but, I still love going out on our sailboat Hotspur.
My nickname for her is Hottie, and she is one expensive side check.
Warm weather needed!
